11/09 - Miss Earth 2008 is Miss Philippines, Karla Paula Henry
Miss Philippines Karla Paula Henry, 22, was crowned Miss Earth 2008 at the Expo amphitheatre in Clark air base in Pampanga, north of Manila November 9, 2008.
Henry beat around eighty-five beauties from around the world declared their personal environmental campaigns, with the theme for this year's competition focused on "green lifestyle" during the coronation night on Sunday.

11/08 - Who will be the next Miss Earth?
Miss Earth 2008 will be held this Sunday, November 9th, at the Calrk Expo, Pampanga, with 85 stunning women from all over the world will compete for the coveted title. The final event will be hosted by artist Billy Joe Crawford and Miss Earth 2004 from Brazil, Priscilla Meireles.
The delegates of Miss Earth 2008 explored the different islands of the Philippines with the theme "Green Lifestyle" and promoted the use of recyclable materials as part of our collective lifestyle. In addition, they engaged on different environmental activities including the planting of trees in the provinces of Rizal, Batangas, and Palawan. They also had school tours in Taytay, Rizal and taught the children the importance of protecting the environment.
The girls had their TV guesting on the different shows of ABS-CBN, the official media partner of Carousel Production for Miss Earth 2008. They had gone to Wowowee, ASAP, Deal or No Deal, and The Singing Bee.
The delegates also had their mall tours and fashion shows in all Robinsons Malls nationwide in order to promote its cause which is to promote the protection of our environment.
On October 25, 2008, the delegates were divided into three groups which simultaneously competed in the swimsuit preliminary competition in three different locations: Sabang Beach Resort, Puerto Princessa, Palawan; Golden Sunset, Calatagan, Batangas; and, Manila, Philippines.
The 15 finalists in each group then competed in the Final Swimsuit Competition held on November 2 at the Fontana Leisure Park in the Clark Freeport Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga. Abigail Elizalde of Mexico was emerged as the winner of the Best in Swimsuit.
The National Costume competition of Miss Earth 2008 was held on October 28, 2008 at the PAGCOR Grand Theatre in Paranaque City. And again minor/sponsor awards were also given at that night. All of 85 candidates participated in the competition, with Miss Panama Shassia Ubillus winning the coveted Best in National Costume award.
Miss Philippines Karla Paula Henry was unanimously chosen by the members of the press as Miss Photogenic. Minor/sponsor awards were also given at that night.
Miss Venezuela Maria Daniela Torrealba was named Best in Long Gown at the competition held at the PAGCOR, Grand Theatre in Paranaque on November 3, 2008.

9/20 - Miss Earth 2007 Arrived in Manila, Philippines
Fresh from a trip to Sigapore and Vietnam where she spearheaded several environmental and humanitarian activities such as mangrove tree planting and gift giving to orphans, reigning Miss Earth, Jessica Nicole Trisko returned to Manila today with reigning Miss Philippines Earth, Karla Paula Henry.
The Ambassador Sala of Traders Hotel Manila, OFFICIAL RESIDENCE of MISS EARTH 2008 was filled with VIP guests and media to welcome Jessica to formally launched the 8th year of Miss Earth. The number 8 figures as symbol of prosperity and Carousel Productions, Inc. believe this lucky year would see participation of more exceptional beauties from all over the world showing and feeling concern for the environment for another grand celebration of true beauties with a cause.
A fews days after Jessica's arrival last week, she did not waste any time and commenced her official activities by leading Miss Earth Foundation's " I Love My Planet Earth" School Tour in Muzon Elementary School, Taytay, Rizal to teach Grade 2 public school children simple to-do tips they can apply everyday in their homes, schools or wherever they mat go. She was invited and subsequently flew to Singapore to help with the on going environmental campaigns at the green state. She will also be going to China shortly also to launch an environmental program.
In her speech, Jessica disclosed that the 8th year of Miss Earth will explore lifestyle check as a key to help our environment. "The kind of lifestyle we have usually leaves an impression we hardly see and they may be an impression that contributes to harmful effects in our environment. a small change in our daily routine can be a big contribution to our society's efforts in becoming more eco-friendly". she said.
As the countdown to the crowning of Miss Earth 2008 begins, Carousel Productions, Inc. once again sealed partnership with Traders Hotel Manila as its Official Residence. present were Carousel President, Ramon Monson, Executive Vice President, Lorraine E. Schuck and Traders Hotel Manila General Manager Andrea Mastellone, Miss Earth 2007 Jessica Nicole Trisko joined the reigning Miss Philippines Earth 2008 winners at this event.
Miss Earth 2008 will culminate on the 9th of November at the CLARK EXPO AMPHITHEATER in Pampanga and will be aired over ABS CBN Channel 2 where more than 80 delegates from across the globe will compete for the most coveted title. Both Star World and TFC will telecast this event on a delayed basis in the countries covered by their respective footprint.
