June 6, 2008 - Maria Daniela Torrealba (center), 19 years old, has been crowned Miss Venezuela Earth 2008 (Sambil Model 2008) while crowd favorite Andrea Matthies was crowned Miss Venezuela for Miss Continente Americano 2008. Completing the Top 5 finalists are Osmariel Villalobos, Maria Laura Verde and Rosa Elena Zambrano.

Daniela was born in San Cristóbal, Táchira and stands 174 m tall. She was Miss Trujillo in Miss Venezuela 2006 national pageant. In November this year, she will represent Venezuela at the Miss Earth 2008 beauty pageant in Asia.

Miss Venezuela has been very consistent in Miss Earth pageant for placing in the Top 4 for three consecutive years since 2005 when Sambil Organization took over the franchise for Miss Earth Venezuela.

In 2005, Sambil sent the ever stunning Alexandra Braun who became Miss Earth 2005, the first ever Miss Earth crown for Venezuela. In 2006, Marianne Puglia became Miss Earth - Fire (3rd runner-up) and Silvana Santaella became Miss Earth - Water 2007 (2nd runner-up).
