Hoang Kieu said RAAS will build some facilities to serve the pageant. He also said that all proceeds from Miss World 2010 would be contributed to charity activities in Vietnam.
About why Miss World Organisation chose Vietnam as the host of Miss World 2010, Julia Morley said: “Charity activities conducted by RAAS, and its wish to bring the Miss World pageant to Vietnam positively influenced our decision. With the slogan – Beauty for Charity – we hope the pageant will bring many good things to Vietnam in particular and many other places in the world.”
Julia Morley emphasised that she was impressed by the beauty and warm sentiments of Vietnamese people.
At the signing ceremony, Hoang Kieu presented over VND3.5 billion (around $206,000) to charity centres in Vietnam. His company, via Miss World 2007 Zhang Zilin, presented $50,000 to victims of the recent earthquake in China.
Miss World 2010 will be the 60th contest. Around 30 beauty queens from around the world will gather in Vietnam.
Vietnam Airlines will supply transportation for Miss World 2010 in Vietnam.
Miss World Chairwoman Julia Morley and Miss World 2007 Zhang Zilin left Vietnam today.
