Miss Earth 2007 returns to Vietnam
 

Miss Earth 2007September 12, 2008 - Miss Earth 2007 Jessica Trisko (Canada) and two beauty queens of Singapore and the Philippines arrived in HCM City on a flight of Jetstar from Singapore Thursday.

This is the second visit by Jessica Trisko to Vietnam while it is the first by the two other girls, Karla Paula Henry and Leow Kian Peng.

The three beauty queens tried on Vietnamese ao dai at Miss Ao Dai Centre in HCM City.

Trisko said this was the second time she had worn Vietnamese ao dai and she loved this style of dress.

On the same day, Miss Earth met with correspondents at a press conference at the New World Hotel.

The three beauties stayed at the Can Gio Tourist Site and took part in some activities in the role of Green Ambassadors. They also presented Mid-autumn gifts to orphans.

Today they will participate in some activities of the International Tourism Exhibition 2008.

On September 19, the Asia-Europe Tourism Forum opened at the Rex Hotel, HCM City with the theme “Strengthen Asia-Europe relations for sustainable tourism development”. The forum comprises a tourism workshop and field trips to advertise HCM City’s tourism to international delegates from the 16 member countries of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).

The forum will focus on exchanging experience and discussing measures to strengthen and boost Asia-Europe tourism cooperation in hunger eradication and poverty elimination, climate change, heritage preservation, environmental protection, tourism, etc.

The ASEM Tourism Forum is attracting special attention from international tourism organisations like the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Mekong Tourism Coordination Office (MTCO).
