March 03, 2009 - Nassau, Bahamas - The Prime Minister of the Bahamas announced in the House of Assembly on Monday, March 2nd, that the Miss Universe 2009 pageant will be held in the Bahamas in August. The exact date is yet to be confirmed.

Though, the MUO has not yet officially released an announcement, it is now confirmed that the Bahamas will host the prestigious pageant.

Gaynell Stubbs, the National Director for the Miss Bahamas pageant said that this is a dream come true for the Bahamas and could not have come in a better time.

The highly contested Miss Bahamas Universe 2009 pageant will be held in May, as many of the small island beauties seek to serve as the official Ambassador for the Bahamas.
